Rust-Oleum Farm & Implement Spray Primer is the primer in the Farm & Implement aerosol line - the same oil-modified alkyd Stops Rust formula as the color coats, sprayed onto prepared metal as a base coat under a Farm & Implement enamel finish.

• 12 oz aerosol - practical coverage about 6-7 sq ft per can
• Dries to the touch in 2-4 hours and can be handled in 5-9 hours
• Recoat within 1 hour or after 48 hours

Not for use on galvanized metal.

Surface prep: Wash off dirt, grease, oil, salt and chemical contaminants, and clean mold or mildew with a chlorinated cleaner or bleach solution. On steel, scrape and wire brush or power tool clean to remove loose rust, scale and failed coatings. Sand smooth or glossy previously coated surfaces to give the primer a profile.

Tip: Shake the can vigorously for one minute after the mixing ball starts to rattle. Hold it upright 10 to 16 in. from the surface and spray in a steady back-and-forth motion, keeping the can moving with each stroke slightly overlapping. Two or more light coats a few minutes apart beat one heavy coat. Apply between 50 and 90 deg F with humidity below 85 percent, and mask generously - overspray carries a significant distance. Clear the valve after use by turning the can upside down and spraying for 3-5 seconds. Clean wet paint with xylene or mineral spirits. Do not use near open flame.
