Rust-Oleum Farm & Implement Primer is the primer in the Farm & Implement brush-on line - the same oil-modified alkyd Stops Rust formula as the color coats, brushed, rolled or sprayed onto prepared metal as a base coat under a Farm & Implement enamel finish.

• Size: 1 Gallon - practical coverage about 520 sq ft
• Oil-modified alkyd resin; apply by brush, roller or spray
• Dries to the touch in 2-4 hours and can be handled in 5-9 hours
• Recoat within 1 hour or after 24 hours

Not for use on galvanized metal.

Surface prep: Wash off dirt, grease, oil, salt and chemical contaminants, and clean mold or mildew with a chlorinated cleaner or bleach solution. On steel, scrape and wire brush or power tool clean to remove loose rust, scale and failed coatings. Sand smooth or glossy previously coated surfaces to give the primer a profile.

Tip: Apply only when air and surface temperatures are between 50 and 90 deg F with relative humidity below 85 percent. Stir thoroughly before use. Use a good quality natural or polyester bristle brush, or a 1/4 in. nap roller on smooth surfaces and a 3/8 in. nap on rough ones. Do not thin with gasoline, lacquer thinner or turpentine. Clean up with acetone or mineral spirits.
