The Apex RainAid valve connects to the mains water supply on a rainwater collection tank to provide a backup supply of water when demand exceeds what the rain has delivered. It tops the tank up between set levels rather than filling it, so harvested rainwater still has room to collect. Distributed in the US by Watts.

This is a top-up valve, not a tank inlet valve: RainAid is specifically the mains backup on a rainwater harvesting tank. If you want a float valve to control a pump-fed tank, look at the Apex PumpBuddy or BigAl differential valves instead.

Installation: Apex requires an overflow and an air gap that complies with local standards, and says to keep a 12" (300mm) head on the pump outlet at all times.
