The 5-1/4" length is the long-reach metal blade -- the extra cutting depth gets through thicker stock, larger-diameter pipe, and stacked plate in a single pass, and the 14 TPI tooth count is the thick-metal count: larger, more aggressive teeth chip through 1/4"-plus material faster than a high-TPI blade can.

Application Tip: Use medium-to-low speed and firm steady feed pressure on thick metal. For deep cuts, let the blade do the work -- pushing harder on a long blade flexes it and walks the cut off line. A light bead of cutting oil along the cut line keeps the teeth cool and dramatically extends blade life on plate and pipe.

Selection Tip: Pick the 5-1/4" blade when the 3" can't reach all the way through the stock in one pass. For thinner material, the 3" blade is stiffer and produces a straighter cut.
