Hillman wire nails are smooth-shank, small-headed steel nails for fine finishing, trim, and light assembly work where a nailgun isn't appropriate -- picture frames, screen molding, drawer backs, cigar boxes, hobby and craft work. Drive flush with a finish hammer or set slightly below the surface with a nail set.

Tip: 16-gauge wire nails are the thickest in the wire-nail range -- good for small case construction, drawer assembly, paneling, and decorative trim where a brad would be too thin to hold. At 1-1/2" it reaches well into substrate for larger trim, drawer construction, and heavier panel work. For exterior or damp-location work, switch to a galvanized finish nail instead -- bright nails will rust.
