Galvanized steel pipe nipple for tank connections, water supply runs, and general plumbing repair. The pipe is hot-dip galvanized on the inside and the outside, and both ends are threaded with standard right-hand NPT tapered threads so it makes up to any matching iron or galvanized fitting.

Tip: Two or three wraps of PTFE tape in the direction of the thread, or a brush of pipe dope, will seal a tapered thread joint that is otherwise metal on metal. Tighten to a snug fit plus a turn or two rather than leaning on it - a tapered thread wedges tighter the further it goes, and overtightening is what splits a fitting.
