BAND-IT REAL WOOD VENEER FACING

Cover larger flat surfaces with the natural beauty of real Red Oak veneer. BAND-IT Real Wood Facing refaces cabinet sides, panel doors, shelving, drawer fronts, and furniture with a genuine wood face -- no contact cement, no specialized tools required.

Paper-backed with resin-impregnated paper that resists splitting across glue-up, and pre-sanded ready to stain or clear-finish as desired. Apply with a preheated (about 400 degree) household iron; press across the surface in 4-5 second overlapping passes until the hot-melt adhesive on the reverse melts and bonds. If a mistake is made, simply reheat and reposition. Allow to cool completely before trimming, sanding, or topcoating. Trims with a sharp utility knife or veneer saw.

  • Species: Red Oak (real wood veneer face)
  • Sheet size: 24" x 48"
  • Iron-on application with household iron -- hot-melt adhesive bonded to the paper backing
  • Paper backing prevents splitting during handling and across the glue-up
  • Pre-sanded face ready to stain, oil, or clear-finish to match adjacent cabinetry
  • Trims with scissors, a sharp utility knife, a veneer saw, or an edge-trimmer tool
  • Bonds to plywood, particle board, MDF, hardboard, solid wood, and even metal substrates
  • Crafted from furniture-grade hardwood veneer
  • A 48" sheet covers small to mid-size cabinet sides, drawer fronts, and face frames

Tip: Red Oak has prominent open grain that takes oil-based pigment stains beautifully; water-based stains can blotch, so pre-condition the surface first. Lightly sand the substrate with 120-grit before applying so the veneer can bond uniformly. Set the iron to high (cotton/linen, no steam) and work from one edge to the other in 4-5 second overlapping passes. Roll the veneer down with a J-roller or wallpaper seam roller as you go to expel any air pockets while the adhesive is still hot. Finish-sand with 220-grit after install and prefer oil-based stains to avoid raising the grain.
