CHARLOTTE PIPE PVC DWV COUPLING, SCHEDULE 40 - 6"

Straight hub x hub coupling for joining two lengths of 6" PVC DWV pipe in drain, waste, and vent assemblies. Schedule 40 wall thickness and a solvent-welded joint give the run the same rigidity as the pipe itself, so the coupling does not become the weak point in a building drain or building sewer transition.

  • Connection: 6" hub x 6" hub (solvent-weld socket both ends)
  • Schedule 40 PVC, white
  • Dual rated to ASTM D1785 (pressure) and ASTM D2665 (DWV) - usable in both pressure and gravity applications
  • NSF listed
  • Non-pressure DWV service; maximum operating temperature 140 deg F
  • Made in the USA

Applications: Sanitary drain, waste, and vent piping; building drains, main soil stacks, large horizontal branches, and commercial-scale DWV mains in light-commercial and multifamily work.

Installation tip: Cut the pipe square, deburr the ID and OD, then dry-fit the coupling - it should bottom into the hub one third to two thirds of the way in before solvent cement is applied. Use PVC primer (purple) on both surfaces, then apply heavy-bodied PVC cement (recommended for 6" diameter) to the pipe OD and coupling ID, push together with a quarter turn, and hold thirty seconds. Wait the cure time on the cement can (typically 5 minutes set, 30 minutes handling at 60-100 deg F) before pressurizing or running water.

Note: Not for use with hot-water distribution, compressed air, or fuel gas. For above-ground sanitary drainage only - bury sewer runs use ASTM D2729 or D3034 fittings instead.
