READY SEAL Clear is the unpigmented member of the READY SEAL exterior wood stain line - the same oil-based penetrating stain-and-sealer chemistry, without the trans-oxide pigments that give the other colors their tone. It soaks into the wood pores rather than forming a film on the surface, leaving the natural color of the wood visible.

• Unpigmented oil-based penetrating wood stain and sealer
• Leaves no laps, runs, or streaks; no back-brushing required
• Does not crack, chip, flake, or peel
• Not based on linseed or vegetable oils, which are known to promote algae and fungus growth in wood
• Apply with a brush, 3/8" nap roller, pump-up garden sprayer, or airless sprayer (40-60 PSI, 211 or 213 tip)
• Apply one uniform coat; porous wood may take a second coat after 45 minutes. Do not over-saturate or allow puddling.
• Practical coverage 125-175 sq ft per gallon, varying with wood type, application, and porosity
• Dry times at 70-80 deg F: recoat 45 minutes, light traffic 48-72 hours, full cure 72 hours
• Alkyd resin; VOC under 250 g/L
• Color: Clear (contains no pigment)

About UV protection: READY SEAL states that its UV protection comes from the trans-oxide pigments in its colored stains, and that clear finishes contain no UV protection and let UV rays reach the wood surface unchecked. Choose one of the pigmented READY SEAL colors if UV protection matters on your project.

Before you start: The wood must be clean, prepped, and dried to 12% moisture or less. For exterior, above-ground use. Do not tint READY SEAL or mix it with other brands or types of stain or sealer - READY SEAL colors may be intermixed with each other. Clean tools and spills with mineral spirits.

Caution: Rags or waste soaked with this product may spontaneously catch fire if improperly discarded. Immediately after use, place them in a sealed, water-filled metal container.

Note: Color varies with wood species, age, and porosity. Test in an inconspicuous area first to confirm the color before staining the whole project.
