RED DEVIL ALL PURPOSE SCRAPER 1"Red Devil all-purpose scraper with a contoured, non-slip textured handle and a 1" double-edge high-carbon steel blade. The lightweight black polypropylene body gives a comfortable grip for paint scraping, decal and adhesive removal, smoothing wood, and general cleanup.
- Blade width: 1"
- Double-edge high-carbon steel blade - reverse it when the first edge dulls
- Contoured non-slip grip handle
- Lightweight black polypropylene body
- Manufacturer model: 3110
- Replacement blades: Red Devil #3166 (sold 2 per card)
Choosing the width: The narrow 1" blade fits between window muntins, into sash rabbets, and along tight trim detail where a wider blade would ride up on the surrounding surface.
Tip: Pull the scraper toward you and keep the blade at a shallow angle to the surface - a steep angle digs in and gouges the wood underneath. Let the edge do the work instead of leaning on it. When both edges go dull, fit a fresh blade rather than grinding the old one; the heat from a grinder draws the temper out of a high-carbon edge and it will not hold up afterward.
Before you scrape: Paint applied in homes built before 1978 may contain lead. Scraping it releases dust and chips. If you are working on a pre-1978 surface, test the paint first and follow lead-safe work practices rather than dry-scraping it into the open air.
