The Anvil 8700163200 is a 2" Class 150 malleable iron ground joint pipe union with a black steel finish. Ground joint unions let two threaded pipe ends be joined and later separated without unscrewing back through the entire run -- essential for serviceable connections, replacement fittings, and any installation where future disassembly is expected.

Tip: 2" lines fit commercial gas mains, larger air system mains, and high-volume process piping. Hand-tighten the union nut, then give it a final wrench turn until the ground joint seats firmly -- over-tightening scores the seat and creates weep leaks. Use pipe dope or PTFE tape on the male NPT threads only, never on the union's ground joint seat.
