Tip: 1/2" lines fit residential gas drops, small compressed air drops, and tight equipment hookups. Hand-tighten the union nut, then give it a final wrench turn until the ground joint seats firmly -- over-tightening scores the seat and creates weep leaks. Use pipe dope or PTFE tape on the male NPT threads only, never on the union's ground joint seat.
