LEAD-FREE BRASS FLARE MALE ELBOW - 1/4" FLARE x 1/8" MPTAnderson Metals lead-free brass flare male elbow provides a 90-degree turn between 1/4" SAE 45-degree flare tubing and 1/8" male pipe thread (NPT). Forged from lead-free brass for potable water, gas appliance, and refrigeration service where lead-free compliance is required.
- Connects 1/4" flare tubing to 1/8" male pipe thread (NPT)
- 90-degree elbow body redirects tubing around tight corners and behind cabinets
- Forged lead-free brass - meets NSF/ANSI 61 and Public Law 111-380 for potable water service
- Rated to 1400 PSI maximum working pressure at 73 degrees F
- Accepts copper, aluminum, and soft brass tubing properly flared to SAE 45-degree
- Use on water, oil, air, natural gas, and LP gas service lines
Common on small refrigeration lines, pilot-light tubing, propane regulator runs, instrumentation, and oil/fuel lines where compact connections matter. The flared tubing seats metal-to-metal against the cone seat for a leak-tight seal without thread sealant on the flare side.
Tip: Apply PTFE thread sealant tape or pipe dope to the MPT threads only - the flare seal is metal-to-metal and must stay clean. Use a single-pass flaring tool to form a clean SAE 45-degree flare on the tubing end; double-flare or short flares will leak. Hand-thread the flare nut onto the fitting, then snug with a backup wrench on the elbow body to avoid twisting the tubing.
