DEWALT 16-GAUGE STRAIGHT FINISH NAILS - 2-1/2", 2,500-PACK
DeWalt DCS16 series 16-gauge straight finish nails are designed for interior trim and finish work. Made from galvanized carbon steel with a chisel point for reduced material splitting, these nails deliver consistent drivability in 16-gauge straight finish nailers.
- Size: 2-1/2" length, 16-gauge shank
- Material: galvanized carbon steel
- Point: chisel point reduces splitting in trim and panel stock
- Collation: smooth shank, straight (0-degree) strip - the standard 16-gauge finish nailer load
- Interior use only - galvanized coating is not weather-rated for direct exterior exposure
- Compatible with DeWalt DCN660, DWFP71917, and other 16-gauge straight finish nailers from Bostitch, Senco, Hitachi/Metabo HPT, Paslode, Porter-Cable, Ridgid, and Makita
- Box count: 2,500 nails per box
Length Use Case: Heaviest trim work - backband, large crown over 5/8" backer, mantel surround attachment, and thick wainscot rail where full penetration through trim + drywall + into the stud is needed.
16-Gauge vs 18-Gauge: Pick 16-gauge for structural trim that needs to hold under stress - baseboards, door casings, window stools, chair rail, and thick crown molding. Step down to 18-gauge brads on delicate shoe molding, thin paneling, or applique work where a 16-gauge head would split the stock or telegraph through paint.
Tip: Set the nailer depth one click shy of flush on first contact and check the test piece - the galvanized coating slows the chisel point a hair, so depth dialed in for plain bright nails may drive these too deep. Adjust up one click if the head dimples the surface.
