MAZEL MASONRY CUT NAILS - 8d (2-1/2")Hardened steel cut nails for fastening wood to concrete, cinder block, and masonry. The rectangular tapered shank wedges into the masonry as it's driven, gripping by friction along its full length and resisting pull-out far better than smooth wire nails. The blunt point minimizes spalling around the entry point, so the surrounding masonry stays intact.
- 8d penny size, 2-1/2" long
- Tapered rectangular shank for high pull-out resistance
- Blunt point minimizes masonry spalling
- For fastening furring strips, floor plates, partition wall sole plates, and 1x trim to concrete or cinder block
- 50 lb bulk box (approximately 4,500-5,000 nails)
Best for: 50 lb bulk box is the contractor-scale pack - full basement build-out, framing multiple partition walls on a slab, or any masonry-fastening job where you want one box to last across multiple projects without reordering.
Tip: Drive with a heavy hammer (20-24 oz framing) at a slight angle and aim for 3/4" minimum penetration into the masonry. For dense or aged concrete, pre-drill a slightly undersized pilot with a masonry bit to keep the nail from snapping. Always wear safety glasses - cut nails are brittle and can shatter on a miss-hit.
