Tip: Work the grits in sequence - 100 to knock down mud peaks, then 120 or 150 to blend, then 180 or 220 to finish. Skipping grits leaves deeper scratches that print through primer. Light pressure cuts faster than leaning into the sander - heavy pressure heats the abrasive and loads it with gypsum. For dust control, attach the pad to a vacuum-ready sander or lightly mist sheets with water; a damp sheet cuts dust dramatically without losing much cut speed. Wear an N95 or better - drywall dust contains silica.
