Tip: Pull no more than 100 lb tension and keep the bend radius at 5x the cable diameter to avoid damaging the insulation. NEC limits 8 AWG NM-B to 40 A breakers. The neutral conductor is required on any 240 V appliance that has a 120 V control circuit (range clock, oven light, dryer drum motor).
