MIBRO TWISTED POLYPROPYLENE ROPE, YELLOW - 1/4" x 1200 FTMibro twisted polypropylene rope is a versatile general-purpose utility rope that floats on water and resists rot, mildew, oil, gasoline, and most common chemicals. The UV-stabilized bright yellow construction provides high visibility for safety and easy spotting against grass, deck, snow, and water. The three-strand twisted construction holds knots securely and splices cleanly for eye terminations or end loops.
- Diameter and length: 1/4" x 1200 ft
- Safe working load: 110 lb (industry standard 10:1 safety factor)
- Floats on water - ideal for marine, dock, pool, and water rescue use
- Resists rot, mildew, oil, gasoline, and most chemicals
- UV-stabilized polypropylene for extended outdoor exposure
- Three-strand twisted construction - easy to splice, easy to knot
- Lighter per foot than nylon or manila of the same diameter
- Bright yellow for high visibility against grass, deck, snow, and water
- Reel-packaged - pay out and cut to length without tangle
1/4" is the light-utility tier - tarp lacing, clotheslines, tent guy lines, packaging tie-down, small-craft bow line, and securing light cargo. Bulk-reel lengths are sized for nurseries, orchards, vineyards, ag tie-downs, and contractor sites where short hanks would be cut and replaced constantly.
The 1200 ft bulk reel is sized for nursery, orchard, ag, and contractor use - thousands of plant ties, fencing runs, or cut-to-length tie-downs from a single reel.
Tip: Singe freshly cut ends with a lighter or match to fuse the strands and prevent unraveling - twisted polypropylene unravels fast if left raw. For load-bearing knots use a bowline, double sheet bend, or anchor bend - avoid square knots under load. Polypropylene weakens with prolonged direct sunlight (typically 2-3 seasons of continuous UV); inspect before each use for fuzzed strands, broken yarns, or a glazed surface and retire the rope if any of those are present.
Care: Store the reel dry and out of direct sun when not in use. Do not run polypropylene rope on winches or capstans - it melts at low friction temperatures. Avoid loads exceeding the safe working load. Polypropylene shows little warning before failing under shock load, so size up a diameter if there is any chance of jerking or sudden impact.
