3M Aluminum Oxide Sandpaper combines tough aluminum oxide grain with a durable backing for general-purpose surface prep on wood, paint, metal, and plastic. Fine grit (around 150) is the workhorse grit for finish prep - removing scratches left by medium-grit sanding and bringing surfaces to a paint-ready or pre-stain smoothness.

Tip: Always sand with the grain on solid wood. Cross-grain scratches at 150 grit are very visible once stain is applied.
