Blue Patina Aging Solution is an acidic water solution that reacts with the real metal particles in Modern Masters Metal Effects Oxidizing Bronze Paint, speeding up the oxidation process to create an authentic blue patina finish in minutes. It is the third step of the Metal Effects system: two coats of Metal Effects Primer, then two coats of Oxidizing Bronze Paint, then the aging solution.

• Water-base acidic aging solution; active ingredient is citric acid
• Formulated for use over Metal Effects Oxidizing Bronze Paint (ME396)
• Apply while the second coat of paint is still wet, within 5 minutes
• Apply with a brush or sea sponge, or spray with a plastic pump sprayer
• The patina appears as the activated surface dries, in about 30 to 40 minutes; cold or humid conditions prolong the reaction and the dry time
• Zero VOC (0 g/l); cleans up with soap and warm water
• Practical coverage 230-290 sq. ft. per gallon at 0.25 mil dry film thickness, allowing 15% material loss
• Interior and exterior use on any properly primed, paintable surface

Note: A clear topcoat is not required over a patina finish unless the surface gets repeated hand contact, such as a handrail. If one is wanted, use Metal Effects Permacoat Xtreme (AM204). Do not use other sealers or varnishes.
