Zinsser Cover Stain Classic Oil 100 is a low-VOC, oil-based specialty primer that combines adhesion with flexibility and stain-blocking power for interior and exterior surfaces damaged by fire, water and smoke. Its enamel holdout makes it a strong choice over bare wood.

• Low VOC modified alkyd; under 100 g/l VOC, in low aromatic mineral spirits and exempt solvents
• Seals all types of wood - new, weathered, plywood and T1-11 - and seals new wood trim for even color and sheen
• Excellent tannin blocker; recommended for priming bare cedar and redwood
• Blocks stains from water, nicotine, smoke, graffiti, crayon and rust; hides all dark colors
• Sticks to slick surfaces such as paneling and glossy paints
• Binds chalky surfaces - good for sealing chalky plaster and paints
• Practical coverage approximately 400 sq ft per gallon at the recommended 1.0-1.5 mil dry film thickness
• Dries to touch in 1 hour; topcoat porous surfaces after 2 hours and previously painted or sealed surfaces after 3-4 hours; full cure in 7-10 days
• Apply by brush, roller or sprayer between 40-90 deg F with relative humidity under 85% (airless: 0.015-0.017 in. tip at 1800-2200 psi)
• 14.2 lb per gallon; 80.1% solids by weight (66.2% by volume); tint with up to 2 fl oz of universal colorant per gallon
• Clean up with mineral spirits or paint thinner; use with any paint

Tip: Spot prime knots and sap streaks with Zinsser B-I-N before priming the whole surface.
