Tip: Use 1 mil for the lightest economical drop-cloth duty: furniture and cabinet covers during a paint job, dust covers over packed boxes, and short-term overspray protection. It tears easily underfoot and is not suited to floor protection or anything with foot traffic. Cut sections oversize by roughly 12 inches per side so you have material to tuck, tape, or pin without restretching across the work area.
