DEWALT RAPID LOAD ROTARY MASONRY BIT - 3/16"Carbide-tipped masonry drill bit designed for boring clean holes in brick, block, and concrete. The 1/4" universal hex shank seats into Rapid Load quick-change chucks for tool-free swaps, and also fits any standard hex bit holder or three-jaw drill chuck so it works across cordless drills, corded drills, and hammer drills in rotary-only mode.
- Tip diameter: 3/16"
- Carbide cutting tip for masonry materials
- 1/4" hex shank, Rapid Load / quick-change compatible
- For brick, block, and concrete drilling
- Rotary-only mode (not for SDS hammer-impact)
- Hex flats resist slip and walking in the chuck
Application: 3/16" is the standard pilot size for 1/4" tapcons and 1/4" sleeve or wedge anchors in brick and block. Common for mounting cabinets, shelving brackets, and electrical panels to a masonry wall.
Tip: Run a cordless drill at moderate speed with steady pressure, and pull the bit out every few seconds to clear dust from the flutes - heat and dust loading are the leading causes of carbide tip failure. For deeper or harder concrete holes, switch a hammer drill to rotary-with-hammer mode; this bit handles rotary-with-hammer percussion but is not designed for SDS-style impact.
