Use Tip: When water seeps from around the stem with the hydrant closed, replace the packing along with the packing nut (10100) and packing support washer (10102). Install with the operating rod still in place to keep the packing aligned, then snug the packing nut just enough to stop the leak.

Service Note: Packing replacement is done from the top of the hydrant without excavating the bury pipe. Shut off the supply at the main before removing the head assembly.
