BRASS FLARE SWIVEL UNION, LEAD-FREEAnderson Metals lead-free brass flare union joins two 1/2" SAE 45-degree flare tubing ends in a straight run. Flare joints are made up cold with no solder, flux or torch, so they can be assembled and broken down in place - useful on appliance connections and in tight spaces where sweating a joint is not practical.
- Connection: 1/2" flare x 1/2" flare (SAE 45-degree), same size both ends
- Thread size: 3/4-16
- Material: brass - lead free compliant product which meets Public Law 111-380
- Two piece construction - nut and body
- Temperature range: -65 degrees F to +250 degrees F
- Use with copper, brass, aluminum, or steel tubing
- Resists mechanical pullout
- Easy to disassemble and can be reassembled many times with no effect on the seal
- Primary uses: fuel equipment, plumbing, gases, refrigeration and vacuum
- Manufacturer part number: 754070-08
Selection Tip: Size by tubing OD, not nominal pipe size. SAE 45-degree flare hardware does not interchange with 37-degree (AN/JIC) flare hardware - the two seats will not seal against each other.
Installation Tip: Cut the tubing square, deburr the ID and OD, and form a clean 45-degree flare with a yoke-style flare tool. Seat the flare fully against the fitting and snug with a flare-nut wrench - over-torquing splits the flare and crushes the seat.
