PVC SERVICE ENTRANCE CAP - 3/4"A service entrance cap (sometimes called a weatherhead or mast head) sits on top of the vertical riser conduit where the utility service drop ties into the building. The angled cap and bushed wire openings let service-drop conductors enter the conduit run while keeping rain, snow, and debris out.
- Size: 3/4" solvent-weld socket for rigid PVC conduit
- Molded PVC body and removable face - non-conductive, will not rust or corrode
- Sunlight-resistant; rated for outdoor service entrance use
- Bushed wire openings protect conductor insulation where it leaves the cap
- Fits standard Schedule 40 and Schedule 80 PVC rigid conduit; solvent-weld assembly
- UL 651 listed
Tip: Orient the cap so the wire openings face downward and form a drip loop in each service-drop conductor before it enters the cap - the loop lets water run off the conductor instead of tracking back into the conduit. Solvent-weld the cap to the riser: wipe both surfaces clean, apply PVC primer (purple) to the socket and conduit end, then PVC cement, push fully home with a 1/4 turn, and hold 30 seconds. Mounting and grounding of the riser must follow NEC Article 230 and local utility rules.
