LARSEN INSERT REDUCING MALE ADAPTER - 3/8" BARB X 1/4" MIPWhite nylon insert reducing male adapter (barb x MIP) for joining polyethylene tubing to a female-threaded pipe receptacle at a different size. Common in low-pressure irrigation drip lines, submersible pump discharge, garden water supply, and farm water service - any spot where a poly tubing run has to step up or down in size as it transitions to a threaded fitting.
- Barb inlet: 3/8" OD (slips inside poly tubing of the matching size; secure with a stainless hose clamp)
- Male iron pipe (MIP) outlet: 1/4" threaded (mates to a 1/4" FIP receptacle - apply Teflon tape or pipe-thread sealant)
- Reducing adapter - inlet and outlet are intentionally different sizes
- White nylon construction - stronger and more chemical resistant than polypropylene, lighter than brass
- Suitable for cold-water service and most common irrigation chemicals
- Manufacturer part number: 19-9654P
Tip: Nylon fittings become brittle under prolonged direct sunlight - bury or shade the fitting whenever possible. Push the barb fully into pre-warmed poly tubing (briefly dip the tube end in hot water to soften it for easier insertion), then secure with a stainless worm-gear clamp positioned just behind the last barb ridge.
