Tip: Apply PTFE (Teflon) thread tape or PVC-compatible pipe dope to the male threads before assembly. Hand-tighten until snug, then add 1 to 2 turns with a strap wrench. Do not overtighten -- PVC threads can split if forced past the seal point.
