Step down a 1-1/4" polyethylene main to a 1" zone line with this barbed PVC insert reducing coupling. The double-barbed design grips PE irrigation and potable water tubing securely, and the gray PVC body resists corrosion in buried and exposed runs.

Use stainless worm-gear hose clamps (sold separately) over each barbed end for a sealed connection on drip, sprinkler, and well-water lines.

Tip: Lubricate the larger barbs with a few drops of dish soap (never pipe dope on PE) so the 1-1/4" pipe slides over them without splitting the wall, and let the assembled joint rest 5 minutes before pressurizing the line.
