JOHN FREY PEX BRASS TEST PLUG - 3/8"Lead-free brass test plug for hydrostatic pressure testing of PEX tubing systems before drywall or slab closure. Insert into the tube and secure with a copper crimp ring (ASTM F1807) or stainless cinch clamp (ASTM F2098) to create a temporary or permanent leak-proof seal.
- Lead-free brass meets NSF/ANSI 61 and the 2014 Federal lead-content limits for potable water
- Fits 3/8" PEX-A, PEX-B, and PEX-C tubing
- Accepts copper crimp rings (F1807) or stainless steel cinch clamps (F2098)
- Reusable across multiple test cycles or leave in place as a permanent line cap
- Chamfered lead-in eases insertion into stiff PEX at low temperatures
Tip: Air-test at 40-50 PSI first to find gross leaks before pressurizing with water for the final hydrostatic test.
