WATER MAIN CURB CUT-OFF KEY

If you ever have a major water or sewer project you have to tackle on your own, there's a good chance you may have to have the water shut off to your residence from your curbside water main. To do this you will need to use a tool called a curb key (which is the mechanism the water company uses) to turn your own water off. The curb key consists of a long rod with a handle on one end and a slotted square fitting at the other end which fits over water shut-off screws.

The Curb Valve Key opens and closes meters and underground stop and waste valves.

• Dimensions from manufacturer: 5 ft length, material is cold rolled steel - 1/2" pipe, mild steel 3/8" flat bar, torque is 1350" lbs, force 100 lbs. 7/8" diameter center rod.
