Anderson Metals cast 90-degree elbow in lead-free rough brass, for turning a threaded pipe run through a right angle. Female pipe thread on both ends. Anderson lists it for potable water applications and for use with brass or steel pipe.

Tip: Use PTFE thread tape or a pipe-thread sealant rated for potable water on the male threads going into the elbow, and tighten hand-tight plus one to two turns with a wrench. Stop as soon as the joint seals - brass threads gall and the body can split if torqued past the seat.
