AMERIMAX FLEX-A-SPOUT VINYL DOWNSPOUT EXTENSIONAmerimax Flex-A-Spout downspout extension carries roof runoff away from the foundation in a flexible, corrugated vinyl barrel that bends to route around landscaping, walkways, or basement window wells. Extends from a compact 25" to a full 55" - long enough to clear the 4-6 ft drip zone most foundations need - and bends 0-180 degrees while holding its set position. Fits both 2" x 3" and 3" x 4" residential downspout outlets, and connects to additional sections, splash blocks, drainage pipe, French drains, or catch basins. Durable UV-stabilized vinyl resists cracking through freeze-thaw cycles and full-sun exposure.
- Extends 25" to 55" - bends to route around plants, walks, and obstacles
- Fits both 2" x 3" and 3" x 4" downspout outlets
- Corrugated vinyl construction holds its set position after bending
- Connects to additional sections, splash blocks, drain pipe, or catch basins
- Can be left flexible above grade or buried into a drainage line
- Color: Stone
Selection Tip: Stone is a muted gray-tan that hides against stone-veneer foundations, stucco, cement-board siding, limestone caps, and beige or sand-colored vinyl siding. The best low-contrast choice when the gutter and trim color is itself neutral.
Installation Tip: Slip the extension over the existing downspout outlet (or into a downspout adapter for a 3" x 4" run) and secure with the included clip or two stainless self-tapping gutter screws so the extension does not blow off in heavy rain. Aim the discharge end to drain 4-6 ft away from the foundation, sloped downhill so water cannot back up. For permanent drainage, slide the discharge end into a 3" x 4" downspout-to-drain transition fitting and bury into 4" perforated drain pipe in a French drain bed or to daylight.
Care Tip: The corrugations trap leaves, pine needles, and roof grit over time and can choke off flow. Disconnect at the downspout once or twice a year and flush from the high end with a garden hose at full pressure - the corrugations clear easily when water has somewhere to go. For seasonal use, retract to the compact 25" length and store flat during the dry months to extend service life.
Note: Above-grade discharge is fine for most residential gutter runs, but if soil grade pitches back toward the foundation or a basement window well, daisy-chain a second section or bury into a French drain to move discharge well past the problem area. Not rated for sewer or storm-drain connection - this is a downspout-side extension, not a buried drain pipe.
