Tip: Cut aluminum armor cleanly with an MC cable cutter or roto-split tool - avoid hacksaws since they leave sharp edges that nick conductor insulation. Slip an anti-short bushing (sold separately) into each cut end before installing the MC connector at the box; the bushing protects conductors from the armor cut edge and is required by UL listing. Per NEC 330.30, support MC cable within 12 inches of each box and at intervals not exceeding 6 ft along the run.
