Anderson Metals lead-free brass reducing union joins 5/8" OD tubing to 1/2" OD tubing with a compression-by-compression connection. The three-piece body unscrews at a center hex for easy service, and the all-brass build handles water, oil, natural gas, propane, and vacuum lines.

Selection Tip: Compression sizing is by tubing OD, not nominal pipe size. A line measured at 5/8" outside diameter takes a 5/8" compression fitting; a 1/2" copper tube measured at the wall is actually 5/8" OD and takes the 5/8" compression nut.

Installation Tip: Cut tubing square, deburr the OD and ID, slip the nut and ferrule on, and seat the tubing fully into the body shoulder. Hand-tighten the nut, then snug 1-1/4 turns with a wrench. The center hex on this three-piece union lets you back the union apart later for service without re-setting the ferrules.
