JOHN FREY LEAD FREE BRASS PEX COUPLING - 1/2", 25-PACKThis contractor-sized 25-pack of lead free brass couplings joins two lengths of 1/2" PEX tubing per fitting. The bulk quantity keeps larger plumbing jobs moving without running short on straight in-line fittings for new runs, repairs, manifold takeoffs, and polybutylene conversions.
- Lead free brass construction certified safe for potable drinking water (meets the 0.25% lead-content rule per the Reduction of Lead in Drinking Water Act)
- Joins 1/2" PEX to 1/2" PEX in a straight in-line connection
- Works on hot and cold water supply, hydronic radiant heat, and PEX-to-polybutylene transitions
- Compatible with standard PEX tubing brands (Uponor, Viega, SharkBite, Apollo, Zurn, Watts)
- Crimps with copper rings per ASTM F1807 or stainless cinch clamps per ASTM F2098
- Brass body resists corrosion, mineral scale, and pipe-stress cracking far better than push-fit plastic alternatives
- 25 couplings per bag for contractor-grade jobsite stock
Tip: Cut PEX square with a dedicated PEX cutter (a hacksaw leaves a ragged edge that can score the o-ring zone and leak), slide the crimp ring or cinch clamp onto the tubing before seating the coupling, push the tubing fully onto the barbed fitting until it bottoms out, and crimp roughly 1/8" to 1/4" from the end of the tubing. Verify each crimp with a go/no-go gauge before pressure-testing the system.
