Selection Tip: 120 is the universal mid-stage grit - use it after 80 to erase the coarse scratch pattern before stepping to 180 for pre-finish, or use it as a one-grit pass for paint prep where stain pattern does not matter. On already-finished hardwood floors, 120 is a common screen grit between poly coats; on auto-body filler, 120 shapes the rough fair without going so coarse it gouges.

Use Tip: PSA discs are non-vacuum - no holes in the backing - so they shed dust to the air. Pair with a shop vac at the bag port, or budget 30 seconds of compressed-air blow-off every 2 to 3 minutes to keep the disc free-cutting. Burnish the disc onto a clean, oil-free pad with thumb pressure for a few seconds after sticking; that prevents the disc from peeling under heat. Let the sander glide - downward pressure breaks the grain prematurely and burns the wood.
