Round file with a straight tang for sharpening chainsaw cutter teeth. Match the file diameter to your chain pitch, then file from the inside to the outside of each cutter, holding the file against the beveled cutting surface at 20 to 45 degrees to the saw. Sharpen all left-hand cutters on one side of the chain, then file the right-hand cutters from the other side.
