ERICKSON INDUSTRIAL BUNGEE CORD - 10MM X 48"Erickson Manufacturing's industrial-grade bungee cord secures loads, tarps, covers, and gear with a thick 10mm stretch core and corrosion-resistant steel hooks. The heavier industrial gauge holds tension on rougher loads and longer hauls than the consumer 8mm cords sold for light cargo work, and the abrasion-resistant nylon jacket shields the rubber from UV, fuel, and weather so the cord stays elastic through repeated outdoor cycles.
- 10mm diameter multi-strand rubber core for industrial pull strength
- Black nylon weave jacket protects the rubber from UV, abrasion, fuel, and weather
- Hardened steel hooks with yellow dichromate (zinc) plating for corrosion resistance
- Crimped hook attachment with no exposed metal-on-rubber wear point
- Common uses: securing truck-bed loads, tarp and cover tie-downs, ATV and lawn-equipment trailering, lashing tools to ladders or scaffolding, hold-downs for boat covers and tonneau covers
- Bulk packed (no retail card)
- Size: 10mm x 48"
Tip: Choose a cord roughly the same length as (or slightly shorter than) your tie-down span - you want around 50% stretch in service, not maximum stretch. A bungee at 100% stretch (double its original length) is approaching rubber fatigue and can let go. Hook the closed cargo-side end first, then stretch the cord and seat the second hook with a downward motion - never pull a hook back toward your face. Eye protection is cheap insurance: hooks under tension can fly several feet if they slip. Replace any cord with rubber showing through the jacket, jacket fraying, hook deformation, or rust pitting at the hook-to-cord junction.
