PRO-PAD SANDING SPONGE - 80 GRIT

Foam-backed abrasive sanding sponge for hand-sanding wood, paint, metal, plastic, and drywall. The flexible foam core lets the pad conform to flat faces, edges, and shallow contours, so a single pad can move between cabinet faces, window casing, trim profiles, drywall patches, and metal repair. Designed for wet or dry use and rinse-and-reuse service to stretch the life of each pad.

  • Wet or dry use on wood, paint, metal, plastic, and drywall
  • Flexible foam core conforms to flat surfaces, edges, and contoured detail
  • Rinse under water to clear loaded grit and return the pad to service
  • Hand-friendly 4" x 2-7/8" x 1/2" pad fits the palm and works one-handed
  • 80-grit aluminum oxide abrasive for fast stock removal on coarse work
  • Grit: 80

Role: 80 grit is the coarsest of the Pro-Pad line and is the right call when you need to take material off quickly: stripping old paint or varnish, knocking down ridges on rough framing lumber, removing surface rust from steel, dressing weld spatter, or rounding sharp edges on cut PVC and wood. Follow with a 100 or 150 grit pad once the surface is leveled, then 220 grit before any finish coat.

Tip: Keep the pad moving with the wood grain and let the abrasive do the work. Pressing harder loads the grit faster without sanding faster. For wet sanding, dunk the pad every 30 seconds or so and squeeze out the slurry to keep the cut sharp.
