Spar formulation flexes with wood as it expands and contracts through seasonal humidity and temperature swings, resisting the cracking and peeling that hard interior finishes suffer outdoors. Application Tip: Prep bare wood with 120-grit then 220-grit sandpaper and remove dust before finishing. Apply 3 thin coats (a fourth for horizontal surfaces exposed to weather like handrails and deck tops). Sand lightly with 220-grit between coats once dry. Wait 24 hours before light use and 3 days before normal use.

Note: Outdoor spar urethane is designed to weather in sun and rain -- for indoor floors and furniture where hard-wear scratch resistance matters more than flex, use an interior polyurethane instead. Stir slowly before use; shaking creates bubbles that show up as pinholes in the film.
