ALEX PLUS ALL-PURPOSE ACRYLIC LATEX CAULK PLUS SILICONE

DAP Alex Plus is an all-purpose acrylic latex caulk with silicone additives for greater flexibility and adhesion. It shrinks less than DAP Alex Painter's Caulk for a durable, 100% waterproof seal, and it is paintable in just 30 minutes with latex or oil-based paint. It will not shine through or discolor the paint, so the finished joint disappears into the surrounding surface. Easy to apply and tool, low in odor, and it cleans up with water.

  • Color: White

  • Shrinks less than DAP Alex Painter's Caulk for a durable seal
  • Flexible; resists cracking and chalking
  • 100% waterproof seal; cured caulk is mold and mildew resistant
  • Low odor, easy water clean-up, VOC compliant
  • Exceeds ASTM C834; 40-year warranty

For best results: Apply between 40 and 100 deg F, and not when rain or freezing temperatures are forecast within 24 hours. Joints should not exceed 1/2" wide by 1/2" deep - if the joint is deeper, fill it with backer rod first. Not recommended on copper or copper alloys, and it will not bond well to polyethylene, polypropylene, polycarbonate, acrylic or PTFE, so test first. Mask both sides of the joint, tool the bead with a finishing tool dipped in water, then lift the tape at a 45 degree angle and pull it away from you before the caulk skins over - about 2 to 5 minutes.
