The 3/8" reduced shank lets an oversize bit run in any 3/8" drill, and the 135-degree split point starts true and eliminates bit walking.

Tip: The shank is smaller than the cutting diameter, so seat it fully and keep the chuck jaws tight. Ease off the feed pressure as the bit breaks through to keep the shank from slipping in the chuck.
