PERMALAC ORIGINAL CLEARCOAT - MATTE, 12 OZ AEROSOL

Permalac Original is a water-clear, fast-drying solvent-based lacquer that bonds direct-to-substrate (no primer needed) on bare or painted metal, wood, stone, fiberglass, and masonry. The cured film carries UV inhibitors, corrosion inhibitors, and temperature stabilizers - rated for service through freezing temperatures, desert heat, salt air, and acid rain. The matte sheen kills reflection entirely while staying water-clear over your substrate - ideal when you want the protection without changing the look of an antique patina, raw weathered steel, or aged wood. The 12 oz aerosol is ready-to-spray, no equipment cleanup, good for small projects and touch-ups.

  • Direct-to-substrate adhesion - no primer needed on bare/painted metal, wood, stone, fiberglass, or masonry
  • UV and corrosion inhibitors plus temperature stabilizers - holds up indoors, outdoors, marine, and industrial
  • Flexible film does not crack when metal is bent or flexed - safe over circuit breakers, electrical components, and formed sheet metal
  • Excellent adhesion over polished and patinated copper, brass, bronze, aluminum, iron, steel, and stainless
  • Mold and mildew protection helps prevent short circuits on electrical assemblies and biological staining on porous substrates
  • Matte finish - flat, non-reflective sheen, water-clear over the substrate
  • 12 oz aerosol - ready-to-spray, no cleanup, ideal for small surfaces, touch-ups, and on-site repairs

Tip: Permalac Original is solvent-based - work in a well-ventilated area, wear an organic-vapor respirator (not just a dust mask) and chemical-resistant nitrile gloves. Shake the can vigorously for at least one full minute before use and a few seconds between passes. Hold the can 8-10 inches from the surface and apply two or three thin coats with 30-45 minutes flash between coats - one heavy coat will run or orange-peel. Invert the can and spray until clear when finished to clear the valve.
