Steps a non-metallic conduit run down to a smaller trade size where it lands at a box, fitting, or panel. The male NPT thread on the larger end and female NPT thread on the smaller end let you join the reducer to threaded conduit bodies, LB conduit fittings, or hubs without solvent cement.

Tip: Wrap two or three turns of PTFE thread sealant tape on the male threads, then hand-tighten plus one to one-and-a-half turns with a strap wrench. Avoid pipe wrenches and over-torque; PVC threads will deform or crack before they leak.
