PROFORM ANGLE SASH PAINT BRUSH
Angled-sash brush for cutting in along trim, window sashes, baseboards, door casings, and crown moulding. The 2" filament block is chiseled to a 30-degree angle so the tip lays a crisp line right up against the adjacent surface without stopping to tape. PBT/PET blend bristle holds latex, acrylic, and waterborne enamels without going limp, and the tin-plated steel ferrule keeps the block tight to the handle through repeated wash-and-dry cycles.
- Filament: PBT/PET blend (synthetic, all waterborne coatings)
- Cut: angled chisel, 30-degree sash profile
- Ferrule: tin-plated steel, double-crimped to the handle
- Handle: lotus wood, standard sash profile
- Width: 2"
Application Tip: Pre-condition the brush by dipping in clean water (latex) or paint solvent (alkyd) and spinning out the excess, then load the bottom third of the filament block in the paint and tap (do not wipe) twice against the inside rim of the bucket - wiping along the lip pulls paint up the ferrule where it cakes. Cut in with the long edge of the angle, leading the brush so the angled tip rides next to the trim or sash and the body trails. Feather the last stroke off the wet edge to avoid lap marks. Park the brush in the wet paint or rest it across the bucket rim between strokes - laying it on its side deforms the chisel.
Selection Tip: The 2" angle sash is sized for door casings, baseboards, doors, and most general residential cut-in. Step down to a smaller width for delicate detail (mullions, narrow sash bars); step up for broader runs (door panels, wider trim) where keeping the cut-in time short matters. Pair this with a 9" roller frame for walls and ceilings - the angle sash handles all cut-in work, the roller handles the field, and you stay with one brush rather than rotating through three.
Care Tip: Clean immediately after each session - dried latex on synthetic filament is nearly impossible to remove fully and permanently splays the chisel. For waterborne coatings, rinse under warm running water while working the filament with your fingers until the water runs clear, comb out with a brush comb, shake or spin dry, then hang by the handle hole to dry - never rest a wet brush on its bristles. Wrap the dried brush in heavy paper or the original keeper to preserve the chisel shape between jobs.
