THHN/THWN SOLID BUILDING WIRE - 12 AWG, RED, 500 FT

Southwire THHN/THWN solid copper building wire, used in conduit for branch circuits in commercial and industrial applications as specified in the National Electrical Code. The solid annealed copper conductor carries dual-rated PVC insulation under a tough nylon jacket, so it pulls cleanly through conduit and raceway runs.

  • Insulation color: Red
  • 12 AWG solid annealed copper conductor, single conductor
  • 600-volt rating for building branch circuits, feeders, and services
  • THHN/THWN dual-rated PVC insulation with nylon jacket
  • Rated 90 deg C in dry locations, 75 deg C in wet locations
  • Also rated AWM to 105 deg C in dry locations when used as appliance wiring material
  • Gasoline and Oil Resistant II
  • VW-1 and FT1 flame tested; abrasion-resistant nylon jacket
  • Silicone-free construction
  • RoHS compliant
  • UL Listed
  • 500 ft spool in a carton

Circuit sizing: NEC 240.4(D) limits overcurrent protection on 12 AWG copper branch-circuit conductors to 20 amps. Actual allowable ampacity depends on the insulation temperature rating used, ambient temperature, and how many conductors share the raceway - size the circuit to your own installation and local code.

Color code: NEC convention uses white for neutral, green for ground, and black, red, or blue for hot conductors.
