MAZEL 16D BRIGHT DUPLEX NAIL - 1 Lb Box

Mazel duplex nails are double-headed steel nails designed for temporary construction where the fastener will be removed -- concrete forms, scaffold ties, ladder and stair bracing, temporary partitions, shoring, and similar work. The lower head drives flush with the wood for full pull-out strength while the upper head stays exposed about 1/4" above the surface, giving a hammer claw or pry bar a clean grip to pull the nail without splintering the lumber when the form or shoring comes down.

  • Penny size: 16d (3-1/2" length, 8 ga / ~0.162" shank diameter)
  • Double-head (duplex) design for fast, clean removal during teardown
  • Lower head sets flush against the lumber; upper head stays exposed about 1/4" proud for claw or pry-bar grip
  • Smooth shank for easy driving and easy withdrawal
  • Bright finish (uncoated carbon steel) for interior and dry-exterior temporary service
  • For concrete forms, scaffold ties, ladder and stair-rail bracing, temporary partitions, shoring, formwork
  • Not engineered for permanent or weather-exposed fastening (step up to galvanized common or sinker nails for permanent work)
  • Pack: 1 Lb Box

Tip: small repair-pack and single-task framing-scale formwork: tying off a single 2x4 wall form, temporary stair-rail bracing, a single ladder-jack tie-down. Drive the nail until the lower head sits flush against the lumber surface and the upper head stays about 1/4-3/8" proud; to remove, slide a hammer claw or pry bar under the upper head and pull straight back -- the lumber releases cleanly without the splintering that flush-driven common nails leave behind.
