SCHEDULE 40 PVC THREADED UNION - FPT x FPTThis Homewerks Schedule 40 PVC threaded union connects and disconnects two sections of pipe without cutting. The three-piece design - two end sockets and a center nut - lets you separate the run for maintenance, pump or valve service, or equipment swap-out. Both ends are female pipe thread (FPT) for screw-in connection to male-threaded pipe or fittings.
- 1-1/4" threaded union for Schedule 40 PVC pipe
- Compatible with Schedule 40 or Schedule 80 pipe (identical outside diameter at the same nominal size)
- Three-piece design allows pipe separation without cutting
- Female pipe thread (FPT) on both ends
- Rubber O-ring seal for leak prevention
- NSF Standard 14 certified for plastic piping systems
- Working temperature ceiling 140 degrees F (use CPVC for hot water service)
Tip: Wrap the mating male threads with 2-3 turns of PTFE tape (clockwise looking at the pipe end) before threading into the union. Hand-tighten the union nut, then snug with no more than one-quarter turn of strap or channel-lock pressure - PVC threads strip easily and overtightening cracks the union body. The O-ring carries the seal; over-torquing does not improve it.
