CANTEX PVC CONDUIT BODY, TYPE T - 1"

The Cantex Type T conduit body provides pull, splice, and tap access for conductors in a non-metallic PVC conduit system while letting the run change direction or branch. Three threaded hubs - two opposing on the in-line axis and one perpendicular at the center - let you split a circuit or feed a branch without breaking the conduit run, and the removable cover keeps the splice accessible for inspection.

  • Trade size: 1" - fits Schedule 40 and Schedule 80 rigid PVC conduit of the matching trade size
  • Configuration: Type T (three hubs in a T-shape, two opposing in-line plus one perpendicular center)
  • Material: Rigid PVC, will not rust, corrode, or react with most chemicals encountered in residential, commercial, or agricultural service
  • Service: UV-resistant compound rated for direct sunlight; approved for above-ground and underground applications
  • Listings: UL Listed for use with Schedule 40 and Schedule 80 rigid PVC conduit
  • MPN: 5133565
  • Cover and gasket sold separately - order matching Cantex blank cover plus neoprene gasket for the trade size

Use Case: Light commercial branch circuits and small feeders carrying 8-10 AWG conductors - HVAC unit disconnect splices, sub-feeds to outbuildings, and pull points on larger residential or small commercial runs.

Tip: Solvent-weld the conduit to each hub using a PVC all-purpose cement applied with the cement manufacturer s primer. Let each joint cure per the cement label (typically 30 minutes at 60 deg F or warmer before energizing the circuit). When installing the cover, seat the neoprene gasket flat without stretching or pinching it - the gasket seals the splice from condensation and dust, which is what extends the body s service life in outdoor and below-grade installations.
